CMMI (CAPABILITY MATURITY MODEL INTEGRATION)
CMMI - Capability Maturity Model Integration is a set of integrated maturity and capacity models for several disciplines, such as: software and systems engineering, supply sources and integrated product development.
CMMI was created by SEI - Software Engineering Institute, a globally recognized institution for certifying the maturity of software processes within an organization. CMMI includes guidelines and good practices, of technical and commercial nature, to be incorporated in the companies' processes. CMMI helps to assure and improve the quality of IT products and services.
Structured in 5 maturity levels, CMMI includes 25 process areas divided in 4 categories:Project management; Process management; Engineering; Support.
As result, the CMMI model is able to meet the organization particular needs, with higher efficiency, by maintaining deadlines and costs, and producing higher quality software.
